About.com's Top 100 Women of History [04 Mar 2009|02:19pm]
http://womenshistory.about.com/od/lists/tp/top_100_women.htm

Glad to see my girl Pocahontas shows up there :) And Eleanor Roosevelt, a favorite of mine for how she helped the country while helping her husband.

I was hoping to see one of my favorite women in history - Hedy Lamarr on the list. She was not only a beautiful actress, but check this out, she goes ahead and helps develop Spread Spectrum Frequency-Jumping communications system that was used to conceal communications during WWI against the Nazis. It was later used on Naval ships to help them avoid torpedoes. It then helped lead the way for cellular communications. Damn girl!

"If you use your imagination, you can look at any actress and see her nude. I hope to make you use your imagination." - hedy Lamarr

Podcast to RSS Feed? [04 Mar 2009|11:42am]
I host a podcast about Magic the Gathering card game, and I'm trying to find out how to get it to be an RSS feed or whatever. I found a page that has a script to do it... Is that the proper way? Is there a big RSS Feed directory I need to be part of?

Preggers at the Grammys [09 Feb 2009|11:23am]
That was awesome. MIA was due on the same day that she was booked to perform on stage at the Grammys, and she goes through with it! Haha it was quite a display.

I hope she delivered that night because then that would be the coolest birthday ever for that kid. When he grows up, he will know that he was born shortly after his mom performed with him on stage at the Grammys on the same night.

I also like how she wore a loud poka-dot outfit, as if you could miss her :)

You will have to find your own videos because they are getting taken down from YouTube faster than I can post them.

Got the Bold! [05 Feb 2009|09:44am]
It's quite the phone! It's basically an advanced Curve, with more features and with 3G.

It's pretty sweeeeeet. It was a tough choice to decide between this and the iPhone.

Cell Phone Comparison? [04 Feb 2009|09:42am]
How am I supposed to decide between the iPhone, the Bold, and the new Palm Pre??

I'm already on AT&T, but the Pre is Sprint.

Anyone have any ideas / experience / opinions about them?

On This Day in History [27 Jan 2009|09:43am]
A lot of things happened in history on January 27th. Namely:

1756 - Composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria
1880 - Thomas Edison received a patent for his electric incandescent lamp.
1945 - Soviet troops liberated the Nazi concentration camps Auschwitz and Birkenau in Poland
1973 - The Vietnam peace accords were signed in Paris, ending fighting and releasing POWs

It's also the birthday of Lewis Carroll and Keith Olbermann. Also Mike Patton from Faith No More and Tricky are both 41!

Most insignificant moment in history is right now, I am contently eating a bagel with coffee and I realized that a poppy seed is one of the few things you can pick up with one finger. You press down on one, and lift it up. Un-remarkable.

NetBeans [22 Jan 2009|11:16am]
Anyone use NetBeans IDE as an HTML editor? It auto-completes all kinds of Java and all these other languages, but doesn't auto-complete CSS? What's up with that??

To Complete Your Movie Collection [21 Jan 2009|10:43am]
It's not a list of the 10 best movies. It's not a list of award winning masterpieces. It's not a list of Katherine Hepburn movies. It's A List of Movies Involving A Person Getting Shot in the Shoulder.

http://www.imdb.com/keyword/shot-in-the-shoulder/

In IMDB you can click on a plot keyword and find other movies with that same plot element. So there is a list for anyone who wants to grab some popcorn and curl up with some good shoulder shooting action!

Up next: Movies involving people eating a turkey sandwich on rye!

Oh Those Republicans [21 Jan 2009|09:53am]
[ mood | aggravated ]

This guy here at work knows I am an Obama fan, so this morning he sarcastically says to me on my way in, after I remark on how cold it is, "Global warming is going to kill us all!"

Yeah dude, Global Warming is just an example of that lying Liberal media! Democrats Photoshopped those photos of melting ice caps and dying polar bears! The world is actually nice and chilly!

Yesterday there was another lovely human being on the FaceBook chat to the right of the live inauguration feed, and he says, "...wishes we had a president with an american last name." (lower-case A in America) What makes this gem of bigotry actually funny was that his last name was like Kzwolchek.

CSS Question [15 Jan 2009|12:42pm]
How do I make a style that I can apply to a table that will allow me to add a margin to each TR and TD?

.tablestyle tr td {margin:10px;}

When you list those in a row, does that mean TRs and TDs within the .tablestyle? Is that correct?

I want to apply a style to a particular table on a page, but not all the other tables. Namely, the padding of the table. For some reason, the table attribute cellpadding="10" is being overruled, so I have to use CSS, and I don't want to have to add an in-line style to every TR and TD...

.tablestyle {margin:10px;}
tr.tablestyle {margin:10px;}
td.tablestyle {margin:10px;}

Those don't work either so I need to somehow apply a margin of 10 to every TR and TD...

Open Source 3D Program?!?!? [07 Jan 2009|09:45am]
Blender is an open source (free) 3D program and it's REALLY good. They say the interface is hard to get used to, but it's on the same level as 3D Studio Max and Cinema4D... Awesome.
